Short Biography
The DS Duo (Delgado – Schmidt) was founded in Berlin in 2006. Since then, they brought to European audiences some unusual programmes, such as „Hommage à Lorca“, „Spanish Impressions“, „Unwanted Music“, on stages like the Staatsoper Berlin and the Palacio del Marqués de Salamanca in Madrid.
Their last recording, made for the Viennese label Gramola, includes the complete works for violin and piano by the Spanish composer Joaquín Turina. Music critics from around the world praised the recording through their reviews in the international press.
Their performances have been broadcast on radio stations such as Ö1 (Austria), RAI (Italy), RNE (Spain), Radio France.

David Delgado
A native of Granada, Spain, David Delgado collaborates with the "Minnesota Orchestra" and "the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra". Simultaneously, he is a member of the Ted Mann string quartet. In 2004 he becomes a member of the first violins in the "Staatskapelle Berlin", an orchestra whose General Music Director is Daniel Barenboim.
At the present time, he is an active member of the chamber music programs organized by the Berlin "Staatsoper" and performs regularly as a duo with the pianist Stefan Schmidt.

Stefan Schmidt
Born and raised near Lake Constance Stefan Schmidt has performed at many prestigious concert halls including Gasteig München, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Teatro Municipal Rio de Janeiro, Tonhalle Düsseldofr, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Museumsquartier Wien, Festspielhaus Bregenz, KKL Luzern and Liederhalle Stuttgart, with orchestras such as the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, The Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie and the Frankfurt Philharmonic.
